                                    <div class="element-text">Harold Bernard &quot;Bernie&quot; Drish, 67, departed this life at 12:15 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at his residence after a brief battle with cancer.<br />
<br />
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 30, at Greater Holy Temple Church, 1409 W. Dublin, Urbana, with Elder Ronald Sutherland officiating. His remains will be in the care of his family.<br />
<br />
He was born Oct. 3, 1942, at Mercy Hospital in Urbana, the only child of Jean (Hartwood) Bridgewater and Harold Bridgewater. Bernie was raised by his mother and his adoptive father, Thomas Drish. He married Shirley Johnson on May 4, 1997. She survives in Decaturville, Tenn.<br />
<br />
Other survivors include his mother, Jean Drish of Champaign; three daughters, Janet Drish of Flint, Mich., Natasha Drish of Augusta, Ga., and Tamara Thomas of Duluth, Ga.; and numerous thoughtful kind and loving stepchildren along with many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews throughout the United States.<br />
<br />
He was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Drish, and adoptive father, Thomas Drish.<br />
<br />
Mr. Drish graduated from St. Mary&#039;s Catholic School and completed his education at Champaign Senior High School. He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1968.<br />
<br />
He had various employment, however his longest tenure was with Caterpillar. He had numerous hobbies which included cooking, crafts, lawn care and walking.<br />
<br />
